Your opportunity
To work for an organisation that eats, sleeps and breathes managed networking solutions for business customers. This includes a diversity of solutions, ranging from our own national optical transport network to our in-house developed and fully automated ‘Connectivity Core’ BNG service delivery platform.
You will also interact with our customers to deliver and manage our custom-built managed networking solutions. The technology-partners you will be working with to accomplish this are divers as we select the best solution for a technical challenge on a case-by-case basis. This could be Nokia, Arista, Cisco, Fortinet or Juniper on the hardware vendor side and on the last mile connectivity side we partner with every large infrastructure provider in the Netherlands (and other European countries). This is also the case for the networking technology you will use, this could range from OTN and dark-fibers in the lower layers to IPSEC and SD-WAN on the higher layers, and everything in between.
What Your Day Will Look Like
- You’ll start the day with a stand-up call where, after a quick chat with the team (10 FTE), we take turns to talk about our upcoming day's activity. Depending on your day this could be one or more of the following;
- Improve our state-of-the-art ‘Connectivity Core’ network by expanding it, adding new functionality to it or making it more resilient
- Join forces with service delivery in one of our project teams to deliver custom-build customer solutions
- Collaborate with our product team and keep our product portfolio fresh and up-to-date with new (add-on) services
- Engage with our sales and pre-sales teams and visit customers where complex solutions are required to design the optimum solution
- Make sure you (or anyone else) are not doing repetitive tasks and talk to our automation team to streamline processes
- Work together with the support team to resolve the more complex customer change requests or incidents and provide mentoring and guidance to that team
- A passion for service provider networking and automation
- A proven history in managing complex and highly available networks
- A vendor-agnostic approach to networking
- A strong desire to collaborate with colleagues and customers
- A tolerance for working in a dynamic everchanging environment
- Working knowledge of standards and networking protocols like VRRP, BGP, MPLS, VXLAN
- Working knowledge of monitoring and telemetry protocols like gNMI,SNMP or NetConf
- Experience with security services like FWaaS, SSE and/or SASE
