Bitdeer Technologies Group (Nasdaq: BTDR) is a global leader in advanced computing solutions, headquartered in Singapore with facilities in the US, Norway, and Bhutan. TDC is our established, green data center in Tydal, Norway, utilizing natural cooling for energy-efficient operations. With 27 employees, TDC is entering an exciting conversion phase to an AI Data Center, focusing on innovative, secure, and efficient infrastructure. We value diverse perspectives and are an inclusive workplace.
We are seeking an accomplished and highly technical Senior Project Manager to oversee the complete lifecycle of our new state-of-the-art Artificial Intelligence (AI) Datacenter construction and energization project in Norway.
This role requires a proven track record in complex, large-scale international construction management, specifically within the datacenter or mission-critical infrastructure sectors. The Senior Project Manager will act as the pivotal technical and operational lead, closely collaborating with AI Datacenter Architects, specialized technology suppliers, local Norwegian contractors, and global executive leadership. The primary objective is to ensure the project is delivered on time, within budget, and meets the stringent technical specifications required for next-generation, high-density AI computing infrastructure.
What You Will Be Responsible For
- Project Leadership & Strategic Planning: Lead the overall project strategy, defining scope, managing the master schedule, and establishing a multi-million-dollar budget for the construction, fit-out, and energization phases of the Norway datacenter.
- Technical Collaboration & Integration: Serve as the primary interface between AI Datacenter Architects and the construction team, ensuring design integrity and the successful integration of specialized, high-density power and cooling solutions required for AI hardware (e.g., advanced liquid cooling, high-voltage distribution systems).
- International Supplier & Contract Management: Manage the full lifecycle of international and local contracts, including complex negotiations, procurement, and supervision of specialized technology suppliers (e.g., cooling systems, electrical gear, server racks) and general contractors in a Norwegian regulatory environment.
- Energization & Commissioning Oversight: Direct the critical energization and commissioning (Level 1-5) process, ensuring compliance with both global standards and local Norwegian electrical codes, ultimately leading to a successful Ready-for-Service handover.
- Risk & Regulatory Compliance: Proactively identify, analyze, and mitigate project risks, including supply chain disruptions, international logistics challenges, and compliance with strict Norwegian health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards.
- Communication & Executive Reporting: Maintain transparent and high-frequency communication, providing detailed, executive-level reports on project progress, budget forecasts, critical path status, and technical risk factors to leadership and global stakeholders.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a closely related technical field.
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in construction project management, with at least 4 years directly managing the construction and commissioning of mission-critical facilities (e.g., hyperscale datacenters, power plants).
- Certification: Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent globally recognized certification (e.g., PRINCE2).
- Technical Expertise: Deep technical understanding of high-density datacenter infrastructure, including utility-scale power supply (medium/high voltage switchgear, transformers), complex cooling systems (chillers, evaporative cooling, liquid cooling systems), and DCIM systems.
- Global Experience: Demonstrated experience managing projects and contractors in an international setting, ideally with knowledge of European or Nordic construction practices.
- AI Infrastructure Knowledge: Familiarity with the unique power and thermal requirements of GPU/accelerated computing clusters (AI/ML workloads) is a significant advantage.
- Norwegian Context: Working knowledge of the Norwegian supply chain, local regulations, and experience working with local utility providers (Nettoperatører).
- Contract Negotiation: Exceptional skills in negotiating complex, high-value contracts with major international equipment vendors and construction firms.
- Language Skills: Proficiency in a Nordic language (especially Norwegian) is a strong plus, though not strictly required.
- Stakeholder Management: Proven ability to manage diverse, high-stakes stakeholder groups, ranging from hands-on site supervisors to C-suite executives.
