The Office of the Deputy Director General Strategic Policy and Legislation, Women and Multicultural Affairs leads the delivery of HR, finance, business administration and governance activities for the division.
Your new opportunity
As the Principal Business Support Officer, reporting to the Director of Operations and Performance, this role offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact by driving compliance-related activities and identifying and implementing business improvements.
With demonstrated expertise in systems such as SAS, SAP, and Aurion, you will be responsible for analysing and delivering strategic financial and HR reporting to support the Division. Additionally, you will ensure the implementation of robust management practices to optimise the Division's financial, human resources, and budgetary performance.
In this role, you will
- lead the Business Support team to deliver finance, HR and other business administration support to the division
- provide analysis, detailed reporting, monitoring and resolution of financial accounting issues to support effective budget management
- manage the provision of comprehensive financial reporting
- establish and maintain effective systems and processes for reconciliation of finance data that supports audit requirements
- develop and implement operational procedures and practices across the Business Support function To be successful you will bring
- experience delivering accurate and timely advice and recommendations to senior management on strategic financial management matters
- experience leading a small team of support staff in a corporate environment
- sound knowledge of corporate governance and auditing standards
- experience developing and implementing system and process improvements in a financial
- a solution focused attitude to managing a range of financial and governance related issues across the division
