Software Engineer III, AI/ML

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., C++, Python, JAX-RS), or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree in an industry setting.
• Experience in computer vision and machine learning.
  
  

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience with Multimodal Machine Learning.

The Geo team also enables developers to use the power of Google Maps platforms to enhance their apps and websites. As they plot a course for the future of mapping, they are solving complex computer science problems, designing beautiful and intuitive product experiences, and improving our understanding of the real world.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain robust MLOps pipelines and models that are integral to the team's mission.
• Collaborate closely with researchers and other engineers to transition computer vision and large language model (LLM) research into scalable, production-ready systems.
• Contribute to a culture of operational excellence, focusing on the reliability and scalability of AI systems, and promoting data-driven decision-making throughout the model lifecycle.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code for complex technical problems, with an emphasis on model serving, monitoring, and infrastructure-as-code.
• Manage your individual project priorities, focusing on modeling and research-to-production transitions, while contributing to the team's collective goals and continuous learning.
