Senior UX/UI Designer, Federal Government

Locations: Any state (Hybrid / remote working available)

Contract: 12 months

Rate: EL1 level, attractive rate

Clearance: Existing baseline or an ability to obtain

Role Overview:

triniti is supporting a major Federal Government transformation program to deliver a new case management platform (D365) and modern digital portal. We’re seeking an EL1-level Senior UI/UX Designer to join a multidisciplinary Agile team and play a critical role in improving the end-to-end experience for users across a complex national service.

In this role, you will lead the full UI/UX design process, applying human-centred design methods to translate user insights into clear, intuitive and accessible digital experiences. You’ll work closely with Product Owners, business users, SMEs and technical teams to influence product direction, shape design decisions and ensure the platform is responsive, WCAG-compliant and user-centred.

You will also help establish design standards and guidelines, promote best-practice UX approaches, and mentor junior design resources to strengthen design maturity across the program.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading UI/UX design activities within an Agile delivery environment

• Extracting, analysing and interpreting user data to inform design decisions

• Creating user journeys, process maps, wireframes and prototypes

• Designing responsive interfaces across multiple devices and screen sizes

• Ensuring accessibility and WCAG compliance

• Preparing and facilitating user research, testing and discovery activities

• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to co-design and evaluate solutions

• Coaching and mentoring junior designers

What you’ll bring:

✓ 5+ years’ commercial experience as a UX/UI Designer

✓ Proven experience leading design activities in complex or government environments

✓ Strong capability across research, interaction design and interface design

✓ Deep understanding of Human-Centred Design methodologies

✓ Experience working iteratively and contributing to continuous improvement

✓ Ability to synthesise insights and communicate with influence

✓ Proficiency with Figma, Adobe XD or similar tools

✓ Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills

✓ Ability to obtain or already possess a baseline clearance
