As part of our ongoing support for a key client, We are looking for a Quality Engineer that will help ensuring that our digital platform meet the highest standards of quality and reliability. In this role, you’ll combine strong technical skills with a passion for quality to help shape our testing strategy and promote a culture of excellence across the engineering team.

What you'll do
- Define, implement and continuously refine the quality strategy, embedding best practices across the entire SDLC.
- Design comprehensive test plans and identify opportunities for both manual and automated testing.
- Build and maintain automated tests across all layers, including unit, integration, API, end-to-end (E2E) and performance tests.
- Set up, maintain and evolve test automation frameworks integrated into CI/CD pipelines to provide fast, reliable feedback on every build.
- Lead initiatives to optimise testing infrastructure, reduce automated testing debt and introduce scalable, future-proof testing solutions.
- Collaborate closely with software engineers through code reviews, ensuring testability, reliability and adherence to quality standards.
- Define, track and communicate key quality metrics, risks and areas for improvement to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Coach and mentor engineers to foster a quality-first mindset and support ownership of testing within engineering teams.
- Investigate failures and production incidents, driving root-cause analysis and implementing preventive quality measures.
What you'll bring
- A strong quality-first mindset and drive to build long-term, sustainable quality practices.
- Deep understanding of testing strategies and activities across the software development lifecycle.
- Proven experience with test automation, particularly unit, integration and API testing.
- Hands-on experience with modern testing frameworks and tools such as Junit, TestNG, SpringBootTest, Jest, RestAssured, Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, etc.
- Solid understanding of CI/CD principles and experience embedding automated testing into pipelines.
- Familiarity with manual testing and exploratory testing techniques, as well as performance testing for real-time and highly transactional systems.
- Strong Java programming skills; knowledge of JavaScript or Python is a plus.
- Understanding of modern backend architectures, including microservices, real-time/event-driven systems and messaging technologies such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.
- A proactive, analytical and autonomous approach, with the ability to take ownership of challenges, deliver high-quality engineering solutions and drive quality initiatives.
