Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Progress OpenEdge Senior Engineer with strong hands-on expertise in Progress development, requirement analysis, and unit testing. The candidate must have extensive experience (10+ years) working with Progress OpenEdge technologies in Agile environments.
Key Responsibilities
Progress Development
- Develop, maintain, and enhance applications built on Progress OpenEdge.
- Write efficient, scalable, and robust Progress code following coding standards.
- Perform debugging, troubleshooting, and performance optimization of Progress applications.
Requirement Analysis
- Work closely with business stakeholders to gather, analyze, and understand functional and technical requirements.
- Convert business needs into technical specifications and development tasks.
Unit Testing & Quality Assurance
- Write and execute unit tests to ensure high-quality code delivery.
- Validate and verify the functionality of Progress modules before deployment.
- Collaborate with QA teams to support testing and defect resolution.
Agile Collaboration
- Work in Agile/Scrum teams, participate in sprint ceremonies, and support continuous delivery.
- Provide effort estimations and contribute to sprint planning and refinement sessions.
Essential Skills
- At least 10 years of hands-on experience in Progress OpenEdge development.
Strong understanding of:
- Progress ABL
- Database structures
- Procedures and triggers
- Batch and interactive processing
- Experience with requirement analysis and unit testing.
- Good communication and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in Agile teams.
