Backend Developer – Financial Systems & Large-Scale Data Processing

We are looking for an experienced Backend Developer to join a team responsible for building and maintaining systems that handle reconciliation, financial management, and high-volume transaction flows. In this role, you will work on scalable backend and data-driven systems that ensure accurate payment flows, reporting, and regulatory compliance—while contributing to the modernization of existing platforms and the development of new features related to payment fees.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys transforming complex business processes into clean, robust technical solutions and building services that empower finance teams with greater autonomy and clarity.

What You’ll Do

• Build backend services and data pipelines that support financial reconciliation and large-scale transactional systems
• Design reliable, scalable, and traceable systems for payment flows and financial reporting
• Develop modular platform capabilities that improve automation and reduce operational dependencies
• Modernize existing financial systems and contribute to new feature development
• Collaborate closely with product, engineering, and finance teams to translate business processes into technical solutions
• Support cloud-native development and deployment, primarily in Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• Ensure high standards of code quality, testing, documentation, and long-term maintainability

Qualifications

You bring:

• A T-shaped profile: deep backend or data engineering expertise, with the ability to work across both areas
• Experience with large-scale transactional or financial data flows (e.g., Spark, Flink, Beam)
• Strong backend engineering skills, ideally in Java
• Good understanding of data structures, algorithms, system design and distributed systems
• Experience with cloud-native development, preferably GCP
• A thoughtful approach to architecture and system reliability
• Strong communication skills—you explain ideas clearly and ask the right questions
• A collaborative mindset and ability to work cross-functionally with product and finance
• Comfort working in fast-paced and evolving requirements
• A user-centered mindset when designing platform features
• High standards for code quality, testing, and documentation
• Curiosity, independence, and a drive to continuously improve systems and ways of working
