Head of Software Engineering

What You Will Do

  • Lead and mentor engineering managers across several European locations, fostering strong delivery performance, people growth, and a healthy engineering culture.
  • Develop and execute the engineering strategy, ensuring consistent standards, modernization, and alignment with the overall platform and architecture vision.
  • Partner with the CTPO on engineering priorities, delivery frameworks, and scaling initiatives across brands and teams.
  • Build a strong cross-location culture centered on accountability, autonomy, and shared engineering excellence.
  • Oversee modernization of applications and harmonization of tools, practices, and delivery processes.
  • Collaborate closely with Product and Platform Engineering teams to ensure reliable, secure, and scalable systems.
  • Assist with M&A activities, including technical due diligence and onboarding of new engineering teams into the SINGU way of working.
  • Take part in meetings with some of our largest existing and potential clients to build technical trust
  • Travel occasionally to meet teams in various locations in Europe to maintain collaboration and engagement.

Requirements

  • Experience as Head of Software Engineering or Director of Software Engineering, ideally in a complex, multi-location enterprise SaaS.
  • Proven track record leading distributed engineering teams and driving alignment across geographies.
  • Strong understanding of modern software development across various backend, frontend, and mobile technologies.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact confidently with stakeholders, including enterprise clients.
  • Fluent English (C1+ level), spoken and written.
  • Experience with M&A integration, including technical due diligence and integration of acquired teams, is a plus.
  • A strong leadership mindset focused on empowerment, clarity, and consistent, high-quality delivery in a growing organization.
