Job Purpose

The role will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing automated systems and processes to improve efficiency and productivity within our operations. The job holder is also expected to have a strong background in automation technologies, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Key Result Areas

1. Lead and manage the team to maintain advanced industrial automation systems like Automatic Storage and Retrieval System (ASRS), Electric Monorail System, Warehouse Management System, Automated Guided Vehicle System (AGV), and In-House Logistics Systems, ensuring seamless operations.

2. Initiate and integrate innovative technologies in Internet of Things (IoT), Robotics, and Artificial Intelligence (AI), enhancing operational efficiency and technological advancement.

3. Program, diagnose, and troubleshoot controllers and devices from various brands like Siemens, Mitsubishi, Schneider, Allan Bradley, Sick, Pilz, improving system reliability.

4. Direct the team in diagnosing and troubleshooting industrial communication protocols such as Profibus, Profinet, CAN, LAN, Industrial Field Bus, BACnet, Modbus, CC-link and similar industrial communication protocols.

5. Drive and implement rigorous, realistic maintenance programs as per OEM, monitoring performance against schedules to ensure optimal system functionality. Prepare and cascade common objectives for process redesign across the business, maintaining high-quality, customerfocused service delivery and compliance with regulations.

6. Ensure the team follows safe working practices in compliance with safety legislation to maintain operational safety for employees, equipment, and assets. Promote adherence to ISO 45001:2018 standards and company policies to uphold consistent quality standards.

7. Guide the team to troubleshoot with robust solutions, ensuring system recovery with minimal disruptions to operations. Approve repair schedules, ensuring cost-effective, timely resolutions within the department's budgetary constraints.

8. Resolve work-related grievances within the teams, maintaining a positive and productive work environment to ensure optimum resource management based on Business needs.

9. Ensure maintenance teams had clearly documented roles, responsibilities, expectations, and accountabilities at all times, promoting clarity. Set clear, specific, challenging, and achievable performance objectives, providing regular feedback to enhance performance.

10. Develop and propose the budget for system upkeep and facelift for the upcoming year, ensuring financial planning and resource allocation. Deliver project requirements, ensuring completion within agreed parameters, meeting project goals and timelines.

Knowledge, Skills & Minimum Experience

Education Qualification:

a) Bachelor’s degree in Engineering in Electrical/ Electronics/ Mechatronics/ Automation and Control Systems (Required)

b) Post graduate or Master’s degree in Electrical/ Electronics/ Automation / Control Systems/ Mechatronics (Preferred)

Work Experience:

a) Minimum 7 years of experience working with Industrial Automation and Control Systems, IoT, Robotics and AI and managing a team.

b) Sound knowledge/ experience in Engineering Legislation with strong exposure to Quality standards and Safety system practices.

Skills:

a) Capable of remaining composed during emergency situations.

b) Proficient in multitasking effectively.

c) Skilled in troubleshooting maintenance and breakdown issues.

d) Excellent written, verbal, and communication skills.

e) Competent in setting priorities and delegating tasks to other professionals.
