We are excited to partner with a prestigious bank in Dubai to recruit a highly skilled Cyber Security Consultant. This is a pivotal role where you will play a key part in enhancing the bank's cyber resilience in a dynamic financial landscape.
As a Cyber Security Consultant, you will be responsible for overhauling and assessing the bank's cyber security frameworks, with a focus on incident response, business continuity, cyber recovery, SIEM systems, and vulnerability management. Based in Dubai, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify risks, implement robust solutions, and ensure compliance with global and regional regulations such as those from the Central Bank of the UAE (CBUAE) and international standards like ISO 27001. This role demands a blend of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and hands-on implementation to fortify the bank's defences against cyber threats.
Key Responsibilities
- Incident Response and Business Continuity: Lead the assessment and overhaul of the bank's incident response plans, including developing protocols for detection, response, and recovery from cyber incidents. Ensure seamless integration with business continuity strategies to minimize downtime and maintain operational resilience.
- Cyber Recovery Solutions: Design, evaluate, and enhance cyber recovery frameworks, including backup strategies, disaster recovery testing, and restoration processes to protect against ransomware and other advanced persistent threats.
- Security Information and Event Management (SIEM): Optimize SIEM systems for real-time threat monitoring, log analysis, and alert management. Implement improvements to enhance detection accuracy, reduce false positives, and integrate with other security tools.
- Vulnerability Assessments: Conduct comprehensive vulnerability scans, penetration testing, and risk assessments across the bank's IT infrastructure, applications, and networks. Prioritize remediation efforts and track progress to closure.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including IT, risk management, and compliance teams, to align security initiatives with business objectives.
- Stay abreast of emerging cyber threats, regulatory changes, and industry best practices, providing recommendations for proactive enhancements.
- Prepare detailed reports, dashboards, and presentations for senior leadership on security posture, incidents, and improvement plans.
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to building a culture of security awareness within the organisation.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field. Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, or CRISC are highly desirable.
- Minimum of 7+ years of experience in cyber security, with at least 3 years in a consulting or advisory role within the financial services sector.
- Proven track record in incident response, business continuity planning, cyber recovery, SIEM management (e.g., Splunk, ELK Stack, or similar), and vulnerability assessment tools (e.g., Nessus, Qualys, or OpenVAS).
- Experience working in a regulated environment, preferably in banking or finance, with knowledge of UAE-specific regulations.
- Strong understanding of cloud security (AWS, Azure, or GCP), network security, and endpoint protection.
Required Skills
- Expertise in security frameworks like NIST, MITRE ATT&CK, and COBIT.
- Proficiency in scripting and automation (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for security operations.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
- Ability to work independently and in a team, managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Fluency in English; Arabic language skills are a plus.
What We Offer
- A competitive salary package with performance-based bonuses.
- Comprehensive benefits including health insurance, annual leave, and professional development opportunities.
- Relocation assistance for candidates moving to Dubai, including visa support.
- The chance to work in a state-of-the-art facility in one of the world's most innovative cities, with access to cutting-edge technology and global networks.
