🚀 Fullstack Software Engineer
Location: New York City, Hybrid
Salary: $160k – $250k + Strong Equity
Start Date: ASAP
Position Type: Full-Time, Permanent
🌟 Company: Democratizing Access to Mental Healthcare
Our client is a fast-growing, venture-backed digital health startup with a massive mission: democratizing access to breakthrough mental health treatments. They connect patients with vetted clinics providing life-changing therapies—such as Spravato (esketamine) and TMS (Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation)—that are covered by insurance.
While these treatments are gateways to resilience and hope, they are often too expensive or inaccessible. This company is building the technology that enables clinics to offer these treatments easily and allows patients to use their insurance benefits to receive them.
They are not a "wellness" app; they are building critical infrastructure for the future of interventional psychiatry. This role is ideal for a builder who wants to be early (Employee #5-6), work directly with proven founders, and solve complex problems that result in real people getting the care they need.
💰 Funding & Traction
- Seed Funded: $10M raised from top-tier VCs and angels.
- Hyper-Growth: Scaled from $0 to $1M in live ARR (plus $3M in contracted ARR) in under a year.
- Demand: Signed dozens of customers 100% inbound with zero marketing spend.
💡 About the Product
The platform is the operating system that bridges the gap between clinics, payers, and patients.
Think: Vertical SaaS + Healthcare Infrastructure + FinTech.
You will build the tools that help clinics manage complex provider workflows and the systems that verify insurance and process claims, ensuring patients don't have to pay $10,000+ out of pocket for care.
🎯 About the Role: Fullstack Engineer
As a Fullstack Engineer, you will be an early technical steward of the company. You won't just close tickets; you will build end-to-end workflows, take them to production, and solve real-world problems at scale. Your work will directly impact the ability to onboard clinics and treat patients.
Responsibilities:
- Own end-to-end delivery: Work across the entire stack, from database schemas to UI components, taking features from design to production.
- Build critical integrations: Develop integrations with third-party APIs and complex data systems (EHRs, claims systems, insurance verification).
- Shape the culture: Raise the bar for code quality and decision-making, setting patterns that cement a world-class engineering culture.
- Solve for the user: Translate high-level requirements into shipping software without getting lost in over-planning.
- Collaborate: Work directly with founders and operations teams to understand the "why" behind the build.
Our Tech Stack:
- Languages/Frameworks: TypeScript, React, Vue, Node.js
- Database: PostgreSQL
- Infrastructure: AWS, Google Cloud, Firebase, Docker
🛠️ Your Experience:
- 4–7 years of professional software engineering experience.
- Health Tech Experience is Highly Valued: Experience at a VC-backed digital health startup (dealing with insurance/care delivery, not just health & wellness) significantly distinguishes you.
- Fullstack Proficiency: Strong grasp of modern web development (React/Vue, Node.js/TypeScript).
- Startup DNA: Experience in smaller companies (10–100 people) or joined early and scaled. You prefer shipping and iterating over bureaucracy.
- Education: CS or similar degree from a strong university.
- Customer Exposure: You have worked in forward-facing roles and understand that users (clinicians/practice managers) are not technologists.
- 0-1 Mindset: You have built things end-to-end, whether at a startup or through your own side projects.
🧬 You will be a cultural fit if...
- You have extreme empathy for non-technical users; you care about solving pain points, not vanity metrics.
- You possess a maker mindset: you have a bias toward shipping and iteration.
- You are unafraid of failure: you take risks, see failure as learning, and move fast.
- You want to work in-person (hybrid) with a team that cares deeply about the mission.
- You are looking for intensity and the chance to build something generational.
- You are collaborative—we do not hire "brilliant jerks."
🏢 About the Team
The team is currently ~6 people, based in New York City. They are led by:
- CEO: Growth leader with two successful exits (one to Skillsoft for ~$500M; one to Alliance Data for ~$450M).
- CTO: 10+ years in health tech; previously Co-Founder/CTO at a successful patient-provider platform.
Everyone on the team has a digital health background. They are hands-on, partner-obsessed, and relentless in their curiosity.
🎁 Benefits
- Competitive Salary: $160k – $250k.
- High Equity: 0.5% – 1.0% (Meaningful ownership).
- Healthcare: Comprehensive insurance coverage.
- Location: New Hybrid office opening soon in Manhattan (3-4 days in office).
- Relocation: Nominal relocation assistance available (~$2k for flights/temp housing).
