Role description

We are seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer with a strong focus on on-premise and

private data center infrastructure to join our UK team, working closely with our DevOps

Technical Lead in Copenhagen.

This role is heavily oriented toward managing and modernising our private data center

environments, while also supporting our AWS footprint. You will bridge development and

operations, ensuring reliable CI/CD processes, secure and robust infrastructure, and

operational excellence across primarily on-prem systems with supporting hybrid cloud

components.

The ideal candidate has deep experience operating traditional infrastructure (networks,

servers, storage, virtualization), combined with strong DevOps practices such as

Infrastructure as Code, pipelines, automation, and monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using TeamCity, Octopus

Deploy, and Git-based workflows.

• Manage, maintain, and optimise private data center environments, including

networking, virtualization, operating systems, and security controls.

• Support and enhance our hybrid infrastructure spanning on-premise and AWS

components (cloud is supplementary, not primary).

• Drive adoption of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and Configuration as Code

practices for on-prem and hybrid systems.

• Ensure system reliability, scalability, and security through automation, monitoring,

and strong operational processes.

• Troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure and application issues in production

on-prem environments.

• Collaborate closely with the DevOps Technical Lead and cross-functional teams

(developers, QA, operations, ITOps).

• Implement and maintain disaster recovery, backup, and high-availability strategies

for private data center workloads.

• Advocate for best-practice DevOps principles, with particular focus on modernising

and automating traditional infrastructure.

Qualifications & Experience

Required

• 5+ years hands-on experience with on-premise or private data center

infrastructure (critical requirement).

• Strong background in Linux/Windows system administration in traditional server

environments.

• Experience with networking, firewalls, load balancers, DNS, virtualization

(VMware/Hyper-V) or similar.

• Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and Configuration as Code.

• Proven experience with CI/CD tooling especially TeamCity, Octopus Deploy, and

Bitbucket.

• Strong scripting skills (Bash, Python, or PowerShell).

• Experience with monitoring/observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, etc.).

• Solid understanding of security/compliance requirements (e.g., GDPR, SOC2, PCI

DSS).

Preferred but not required

• Hands-on experience with AWS services in hybrid setups (IAM, networking,

compute, storage).

• Familiarity with containers/orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)

Other skills

• Strong analytical and troubleshooting mindset.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills across distributed teams.

• Ability to work independently and manage priorities.

• Proactive, detail-oriented, and committed to operational excellence.

Education & Certifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or equivalent experience.

• Preferred: AWS DevOps/Solutions Architect, CKA/CKAD, or relevant

security/compliance certifications.
