About the Company
As a Software Engineer in a growing fintech/edtech company based in Southport on the Gold Coast, this role offers the chance to contribute to an ambitious product in a close-knit, creative team.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain scalable, secure backend systems using Node.js
- Develop and integrate RESTful and GraphQL APIs to power game and platform features
- Collaborate with the Unity team to ensure smooth backend-to-frontend integration
- Design and manage database schemas (MongoDB, PostgreSQL) for performance and integrity
- Contribute to the development of CI/CD pipelines for reliable deployments
- Partner with front-end developers, designers, and product stakeholders
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years commercial backend development experience
Required Skills
- Strong skills in JavaScript/TypeScript and Node.js
- Experience with MongoDB, PostgreSQL, or other modern databases
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools and deployment best practices
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
Preferred Skills
- Experience integrating backend services with Unity or other game engines
- Passion for education, fintech, or building experiences for families and kids
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Experience with Docker and containerisation
Pay range and compensation package
