We are looking for a motivated Software Engineer to join our team responsible for planning and scheduling ICEYE's satellite-fleet activities. You will help build and operate systems that coordinate key satellite operations — including image acquisitions, communications, and downlinking of payload data — within a complex and dynamic environment constrained by both physics and business priorities.
You'll work closely with other engineers and domain experts to design and deliver reliable, scalable software running in production. This role suits someone who can work independently on moderately complex problems, contribute effectively to team discussions, and continuously grow toward broader system understanding and ownership.
Our technology stack includes Python, PostgreSQL, and cloud-native infrastructure running on AWS and Kubernetes.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of professional experience in software development.
- Proficiency in Python and experience building production-grade services.
- Practical experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL or similar) and RESTful API development.
- Familiarity with distributed systems and cloud environments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a pragmatic approach.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and communicate effectively in English.
- Knowledge of scheduling, optimization, or resource-allocation systems.
- Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform or similar).
- Interest in leveraging AI/LLM-assisted tools for software development.
- Experience with AWS, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
What's In It for You?
- A job that matters in a dynamic Earth Observation environment with a scale-up approach
- An independent role with a supportive and diverse work environment
- Occupational healthcare, occupational and private insurance
- A yearly benefit budget to spend as you wish (i.e. on sport, transport, bike benefit, wellness, lunch, etc.)
- Phone subscription with iPhone of choice
- Time for self-development, research, training, conferences, or certification schemes
- Inspiring and collaborating offices and silent workspaces enable you to focus
- A wide variety of the best coffee, tea, snacks, and sweets to accompany your daily space mission
