The LINUX Service Manager will support the Customer’s business service owner in the area of Linux Hosting Services, responsible for defining the overall strategy and future direction of the service.
Collaborating with the MSP’s team and customer representative, the LINUX Service Manager will ensure that the service is designed and implemented in accordance with the Customer’s business needs and IT standards.
The goals of the position include:
- Regular review and assessment of the MSP team’s deliverables to identify areas for improvement and optimization.
- Development of a strategic roadmap proposal for the service, aligning with the Customer’s overall IT strategy and goals.
- Collaborative planning, design, decision-making and implementation with the MSP team to ensure that the service is designed and implemented to meet the Customer’s business requirements.
- Overseeing phases of diverse projects related to the operation and daily activities of the Data Centers & Private Cloud Unit.
- Ongoing monitoring and evaluation of the operations to ensure that it continues to meet the Customer’s needs, SLAs and expectations
- Coordinating changes and governance with other technical stakeholders.
These goals will be reached through the following specific tasks:
- Provide expert technical assistance on Linux Hosting Services and related products or services (such as AI, networking and Kubernetes) as required: technical guidance, troubleshooting, performance optimization, governance, monitoring.
- Manage diverse projects related to the day-to-day operations of the Unit.
- Participate in the formulation, planning and definition of project requirements, liaise with stakeholders and internal customers, participate in requirements gathering and communicate results.
- Develop a deep understanding of internal business processes, oversee their continuous improvement and manage service reliability.
- Ensure quality of the external managed service project documentation, meeting minutes and other relevant documents and deliverables.
- Participate in and coordinate project meetings and related activities.
- Supervise services delivered within the external managed service portfolio.
- Manage the LINUX Hosting Services dependencies.
- Ensure documentation and knowledge management systems quality, development and maintenance to ensure that information about the LINUX Hosting Services and dependencies are up-to-date and readily available.
- Evaluate and implement security standards.
- Identify opportunities for innovation and improvement.
- Develop business cases for new initiatives and investments.
Required Education
- Master’s degree or 3 years of higher education or
- Bachelor’s degree plus 5 years of relevant experience in IT Hosting Services, IT Security, Networking or Virtualization.
Minimum Professional Requirements
- English level C1.
- 10+ years of experience in Datacenter Infrastructure, OS Management, Networks, Storage, Virtualization, and IT Security.
- 5+ years delivering and supervising IT hosting services.
- Experience supervising large-scale AI infrastructure deployments is an asset.
- Proven experience with Kubernetes and the DevOps paradigm.
- Experience supervising external Managed Services and Data Centre Capacity Management.
- Experience applying Agile methodologies.
- Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE)
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or equivalent.
Working Conditions
- Work must be performed within the European Union.
- Hybrid model: 3 days onsite / 2 days remote per week.
