The Construction Project Manager is responsible for the management, planning, execution, and successful hand-over of medium-scale commercial investment projects within established timelines and quality standards. The PM will manage project execution activities of several commercial construction projects with varying complexity and size, while building relationships and maintaining full legal compliance.
Responsibilities:
Project Management:
- The Construction Project Manager is responsible for the management, planning, execution, and successful hand-over of medium-scale commercial investment projects within established timelines and quality standards.
- Manage and supervise the project team, including contractors and sub-contractors, to ensure the successful execution and delivery of several construction projects.
- Coordinate with internal team members to schedule manpower, equipment resources, and material supplies for the timely execution of projects.
- Manage and control all administrative project activities (RFI’s, submittals, change orders, close out, project documentation).
Planning & Scheduling:
- Manage the planning, design, development, and execution of multiple construction projects throughout their lifecycle from inception to hand-over using PM software.
- Review the contractual terms and schedule activities to facilitate the project planning and delivery within established contractual terms.
- Execute project scheduling and activity planning to ensure efficient management and monitoring of construction projects, having the responsibility for creating and monitoring a rolling activity planner for multiple projects.
Monitoring & Tracking:
- Manage and monitor the execution and implementation of construction and investment projects at various stages, while ensuring full adherence to contractual terms.
- Coordinate and liaise with contractors, suppliers, client, and HSE representative.
- Lead and coordinate job site meetings with contractors and sub-contractors to ensure execution of construction projects within established timelines and quality standards.
- Communicate and coordinate with Project Architects, General Contractors, and Owner’s Representatives, while ensuring adherence to quality standards.
Permit Requisition & Approval: Lead permit and approval requisition process to ensure full compliance with legal requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, construction science, engineering, architecture, or related field from an accredited university.
- 5+ years of experience leading mid-scale construction projects in a semi-unsupervised capacity.
Required Skills
- Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, construction details, and specifications.
- Ability to negotiate price, terms, and schedule with vendors and customers.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project and experience with Project Management software preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills along with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Self-motivated with strong time management skills, ability to successfully multitask and constantly juggle priorities.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Project Management software preferred.
