Your team
You will join SkillLab’s internal operations team that is responsible for ensuring the smooth running of SkillLab as an organisation. You will directly work with Felix who is one of SkillLab’s co-founders.
Other people that make up the internal operations team is Rwitu, our HR Business Partner, Elsa our Recruitment & People Operations Specialist, Tanya as our Finance Generalist and Tais as our people ops coordinator and events organiser. Learn more about the internal operations team here.

Your opportunity
The role will support the security officer in managing information security across SkillLab.
You will be involved in and learn a lot about various activities:
- Support managing ISO 27001 information security management system
- Manage IT related onboarding and offboarding of SkillLabers
- Manage phishing campaigns and security awareness training
- Conduct research and implement projects across a variety of security domains within SkillLab’s operations
- Make and implement suggestions on how to improve our cyber security & data privacy through behaviour change, technical controls and policy measures
- Support the completion of larger security projects managed by the security officer
We’d be especially happy if you have a study or previous work background in information security, cybersecurity or data privacy. Though we are also open to newcomers into the field.
- You have a software engineering or relevant background and a demonstrated interest in cyber security, data privacy etc.
- You are currently enrolled as a student or graduated within the last 12 months from a Dutch or equivalent university.
- You are eligible to work in the Netherlands. We don’t support visa applications for applicants from outside the EU.
- You are able to commit to a full-time (40 hours) and six month internship.
- This is a paid internship. The monthly reimbursement will be 1.000 EUR.
- You can do the internship by living in another city in the Netherlands and commuting to the office 1-2 days per week. SkillLab covers your train commuting expenses to Amsterdam.
- We accept applications on rolling basis and we envision a start date in September 2025.
