Head of Engineering – Web3 Platform

Step into a pivotal leadership role with a pioneering, VC-backed company at the forefront of blockchain and online gaming. We’re seeking a Head of Engineering to shape the technical vision and drive the growth of an advanced, white-label casino platform in the dynamic iGaming industry.

This fast-growing business empowers operators, marketers, and influencers to launch and manage their own online casinos with ease. Their platform handles the complex technical, legal, and financial infrastructure (like “Shopify for iGaming”) and is fully licensed, hosted, and optimised for real-money play from day one. The product leverages blockchain for on-chain transparency, automates rewards, and offers built-in affiliate tools, all while supporting a wide portfolio of games.

As Head of Engineering, you’ll own the technical vision, architecture, and delivery of the entire platform. You’ll lead a talented engineering team, drive execution, and ensure the platform scales to meet the demands of operators, liquidity partners, and regulators. Reporting directly to the CTO, you’ll be responsible for growing and managing the engineering department, optimising processes, and remaining hands-on as a technical lead.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and own the long-term technical vision, architecture, and engineering roadmap.
• Ensure the platform is scalable, resilient, secure, and compliant.
• Lead and mentor the engineering team across frontend, backend, DevOps, and QA.
• Oversee recruitment, team growth, and performance management.
• Establish engineering best practices and drive fast, reliable delivery.
• Own uptime, performance, monitoring, and incident management in a 24/7 environment.
• Collaborate closely with founders on product and strategic decisions, including blockchain integration and payments infrastructure.

Required Experience

• 6+ years in software engineering, with 2–3 years in a lead or head-of-engineering role.
• Strong expertise in TypeScript, Node.js, PostgreSQL, and modern web technologies.
• Experience with large-scale, real-time, or high-traffic systems.
• Deep AWS knowledge.
• Blockchain experience is a plus.
• Proven ability to lead teams, define roadmaps, and deliver complex products.
• Experience in iGaming or online casino platforms is highly beneficial.
