Senior Node/Typescript developer - Property Industry

The role:

We are looking for an experienced backend/full-stack developer with the ability and willingness to take ownership. You will be given primary responsibility for a central backend system (BSR), and will improve stability, performance and further develop the product. The role combines operations and new development, and you will be a key person on the backend in a small in-house team with long-term ownership, replacing dependence on consultants.

The product:

We operate an in-house, proprietary matching platform that connects home sellers with the right buyers. The system is used daily by brokers and maps almost 130,000 active home seekers with detailed preferences. This presents complex technical challenges in building the search and scoring algorithms, combined with real-time matching of new homes against thousands of profiles.

Role and responsibilities:

• Full technical ownership of BSR (operations, new development, stability, performance, security)
• Maintenance and modernisation of existing architecture
• Backend and infrastructure responsibility (AWS, DevOps, database structure, OpenSearch)
• Close collaboration with the team on architecture and priorities

The role will be divided approximately as follows:

• 50% BSR ownership – operations, new development, stability, performance, security
• 50% General development – backend, infrastructure, databases, DevOps, new development

Qualifications:

• 4+ years of backend experience
• Node and Typescript - solid knowledge
• Good experience with Event-driven architecture (RabbitMQ)
• PostgreSQL (design, migration, optimisation)
• OpenSearch/Elasticsearch experience
• Comfortable with complex systems in production

Bonus qualifications:

• Go - we have some small services
• Python/Django
• PowerShell
• React- we have a frontend developer, but we are a small team, so it is great if you can contribute here
• Interest in AI - we have a lot of ideas here
• Experience with DevOps (CI/CD/Monitoring)
