We seek an experienced Senior HVAC Engineer to lead the successful construction, deployment, and commissioning of the high-density HVAC system for our new AI Data Center in Tydal. This role is focused on execution and project oversight, ensuring the system is built efficiently and operates according to design specifications, working closely with an external design firm.

Implementation & Oversight

What you will be responsible for

• Serve as the Owner's Representative for all on-site HVAC construction.
• Validate design documents for constructability, cost-effectiveness, and quality.
• Manage and coordinate mechanical subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams.
• Conduct site inspections, punch-list generation, and ensure compliance with standards (ASHRAE, Uptime).
  
  

Project Management

• Manage the detailed HVAC project schedule and budget.
• Lead change management (RFIs, submittals) and resolve field conflicts swiftly.
• Coordinate collaboration between the design firm, GC, suppliers, and the Commissioning Agent (CxA).
  
  

Testing & Commissioning (Cx)

• Develop and review commissioning plans and test scripts for complex infrastructure (redundant chilled water, high-density/liquid cooling).
• Oversee Integrated System Testing (IST) and Level 5 Acceptance to validate critical cooling performance.
• Ensure system operation achieves the target Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE).
  
  

Risk Management & Reporting

• Identify and develop strategies to mitigate project risks (schedule, quality, supply chain).
• Provide clear, frequent status reports to senior leadership.
  
  

How You Will Stand Out

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Experience: 7+ years of hands-on project management/implementation in large-scale mechanical construction.5+ years managing HVAC construction for hyperscale or mission-critical data centers. Proven experience commissioning complex, redundant cooling infrastructure (e.g., free cooling, central plant).
• Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of HVAC controls (BMS/BAS) programming. Ability to interpret and redline P&IDs and construction drawings. Familiarity with high-density compute thermal management and liquid cooling systems (highly desirable).
• Certifications (Preferred): PMP, P.E. license, or Uptime Institute certifications.
• Core Competencies: Execution Focus (on-time, on-budget delivery), Technical Acumen (installation best practices), and Conflict Resolution.
