In this role, you will collaborate closely with one or more Account Executives and leverage a broad team of sales specialists to position sophisticated software and hardware solutions. Your focus will be on addressing the business and technical challenges faced by our customers. You will also engage with an extended network of Cisco services experts and business unit subject matter authorities, supported by your sales leadership and executives, to ensure success.

Your Impact

As a Solutions Engineer supporting our sales account teams across both Private and Public sectors in a pre-sales technical architect capacity your focus will be on Cisco’s Core Networking solutions. You will specialize in Core, Campus, and Access network design. Additionally, you will engage in security discussions involving segmentation, automation, and integrations, shaping secure network architectures that meet today’s evolving requirements.

Your key responsibilities include setting up demonstrations, articulating features and benefits to customers, and designing tailored architecture solutions that align with specific business needs and objectives. You will collaborate actively as a specialist, providing consultative support alongside other Solutions Engineers.

Technical solutions you will work with span Networking, SD Access, Catalyst Center, Cloud Management, Switching, Routing, and SD-WAN.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent degree.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a technical sales role, acting in a consultative fashion, educating customers, partners, and team members on value propositions and business drivers, coupled with understanding of the sales cycle and challenges that can affect the business, confirmed by closed opportunities.
  • High proficiency in English and Norwegian, confirmed by relevant certifications or professional use.
  • Proven architecture skills working with Cisco or competitor products in Switching and Routing, coupled with in-depth knowledge of Software-Defined Networking (SDN) and programmability solutions, as well as understanding of detailed Layer 2/Layer 3 networking protocols, such as ISIS, BGP, VXLAN, evidenced by completion of recognized architecture trainings or certifications (e.g., CCNP, CCIE or competitor certifications), or a minimum of 3 years’ hands-on experience in network architecture design.
  • Experience and track record of handling customer issues in collaboration with TAC and Business Unit resources.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Creativity, determination, and flexibility in driving demand and pipeline.
  • Above-average written and verbal communication, listening, negotiation, and technical/non-technical presentation skills for diverse audiences.
  • Ability to collaborate with Cisco business units on future feature improvements that drive additional revenue.
