Junior Designer, Childrenswear | Joe Fresh
The Junior Designer is responsible for working within the Children’s design team to create brand-right product for Joe Fresh while seasonably achieving business and profit objectives. The Junior Designer will work closely with and report into the Senior Designer.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for designing brand-right Children’s product for Joe Fresh, under the guidance of the Senior Designer.
- Research new trends, fabric, and trim innovation, identify business opportunities and collaborate with the Senior Designer on seasonal Concepts.
- Sketch product in CLO 3D and work into fixtures (in Adobe Illustrator) to develop the collection.
- Responsible for maintaining style updates throughout the development season.
- Create styles and BOM’s in PLM (Centric) during the development process.
- Create Tech Packs in Illustrator and upload to PLM.
- Attend necessary weekly fit sessions with the Technical Design team.
- Collaborate with and attend weekly meetings with cross-functional teams: Product Development, Raw Materials, Technical Design, Buying and Merchandising to support the execution of product.
- Regularly visit JF stores to view new product set-up each season.
- Regularly shop competitors and aspirational brands in the market.
- Responsible for bought sample organization in the office, file organization on Sharepoint/OneDrive. Assist the Senior Designer with additional miscellaneous tasked as needed.
- Must have enthusiasm for apparel fashion and a strong sense of seasonless style.
- Must have a key understanding of colors, prints, proportions, and fabrics.
- Must have a team-oriented attitude and an eagerness to learn.
- Experience in Children’s design is preferred.
- Must have strong time management, presentation, and organizational skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Apparel Design preferred.
- Must have 3+ years of design experience.
- Must be proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, Microsoft Office and PLM.
- Must have experience in or have the desire to learn 3D application: CLO.
