We’re looking for a Machine Learning Engineer specializing in Generative AI (GenAI) to design, build, and deploy scalable AI systems that transform how we leverage data and automation across the business. You’ll work at the intersection of machine learning, large language models (LLMs), and software engineering, helping bring research prototypes into production and driving tangible impact through applied AI solutions.
Key job responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deploy ML models, GenAI solutions (e.g., LLM-based assistants, summarization, classification, retrieval-augmented generation).
- Build and optimize end-to-end ML pipelines — from data ingestion and feature engineering to model training and deployment.
- Collaborate with scientists and product teams to operationalize models and integrate them with internal tools and workflows.
- Implement MLOps and LLMOps best practices including model versioning, CI/CD, model evaluation, monitoring, and retraining.
- Fine-tune, evaluate, and optimize large language models (OpenAI, Anthropic, Hugging Face, etc.) for business-specific use cases.
- Develop APIs and backend integrations to embed ML/GenAI capabilities into customer-facing and internal applications.
- Ensure model quality, security, and compliance with responsible AI principles — including bias mitigation and data privacy.
- Stay current with emerging trends in GenAI and applied ML, and drive adoption of new techniques and frameworks across the team.
Role
In this role you will leverage your engineering background and expertise in ML to lead developing foundational behavioral model for Amazon Stores using LLM and Large Model training techniques. On a day-to-day basis, you will:
- Lead the design and implementation of a stable and efficient training infrastructure that scales to a large model size and hardware such as GPU.
- Collaborate with other talented applied scientists and engineers to develop an improved training infrastructure that accelerates innovation.
- Quickly learn latest technologies and algorithms in the field of Generative AI.
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
