Heat and steam are used in almost every industry for various purposes in various temperatures. Today, most of this heat is still produced by burning fossil fuels, making industrial heat production one of the largest emission sources accounting for >30% of all European CO2 emissions.
At Intergrid, we are on a mission to make electrification and optimization of industrial energy use as easy and economical as possible. As industrials electrify and get exposed to the complex and volatile power markets, operating varying electric-hybrid systems with energy storages effectively exceeds human capabilities.
Intergrid’s full-stack AI autopilot combines proprietary data and control layers with real-time decision-making to optimise industrial heat and steam production and power trading 24/7, safely and reliably.
In two years, we’ve grown exceptionally fast from three founders with an ambitious vision to an amazing diverse team of >30 people from different nationalities and a wide range of satisfied customers across multiple industries. Today, more than 70 industrial sites already rely on our services – and the pace is only accelerating.
To accelerate our growth, we have secured >10M€ in funding from top-tier US and Finnish investors such as True Ventures, Lifeline Ventures, Risto Siilasmaa, and the founders of Aiven. About the role
We are entering a new stage in scaling our business and impact in Europe, and are looking for a full-time Front-end / Full-stack Software Engineer to join our fast-growing team in Helsinki!
You'll play a key role in developing our internal and customer-facing user interfaces for Intergrid's verticalized software that connects power markets with electrified industrial heat production. You'll build interfaces for complex optimisation and simulation software that sits at the heart of our operations, serving diverse production unit concepts, heat networks, and industrial clients across multiple markets.
You'll bridge the gap between our Customers, Software Development, Analytics, and Operations teams, transforming complex business requirements into robust technical solutions.

Key responsibilities
- Development of Intergrid’s internal and external user interfaces with modern frontend frameworks
- Integrate frontend applications with backend services and contribute to backend development
- Drive user experience through testing, feedback collection, and iterative improvements
- Shape the development team roadmap and foster knowledge sharing across teams
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to solve business & technology problems
Who we are looking for
- Proven track record of frontend development experience and hands-on experience with modern frontend frameworks (e.g. Vue, React)
- Customer-focused mindset with genuine interest in exceptional user experience
- Strong project management skills - you know what to prioritise and when
- Strong communication skills - comfortable presenting demos and technical concepts to internal & external audiences
- A growth-minded talent thriving in a fast-paced and autonomous environment
- Curious to explore new domains, including industrial processes, IoT, and power trading
- Fluent English skills
Nice-to-have
- Back-end development experience, especially Java / Spring Boot
- Experience or interest in people management (potential for managerial responsibilities as the team grows)
- Knowledge of industrial environments, the energy sector, or power markets
