We’re hiring a DevOps / Platform Engineer to help us level up the infrastructure behind our golf prediction systems at Quantum Sports Data (QSD).
We build predictive models for professional golf and run them live into real markets. The stack is all on AWS and already in place – your job is to make sure it runs fast, reliably, and with as little drama as possible.
This is a mid–senior role (roughly 3+ years experience), full-time, hybrid in Dublin. You’ll work in a small team and have a big say in how everything is set up.
Owning and improving our AWS setup (EC2, RDS/Postgres, S3, Step Functions, Lambda, Redis/ElastiCache, etc.).
Taking our existing data + modelling pipeline and making it:
- easier to deploy
- easier to monitor
- harder to break.
Working with another dev to keep the full pipeline healthy end-to-end:
- ingest data
- process it
- run models and simulations
- push prices to our front end and to trading endpoints.
Helping design and maintain API integrations with real-time price delivery.
Putting proper observability in place: logging, metrics, dashboards, alerts.
Being part of an on-call rota for big events (golf majors etc.) so we don’t fall over when things get busy.
Must haves
- Solid experience (around 3+ years) working with AWS in a production environment.
- Strong with Python in a backend / infrastructure context.
- Comfortable with SQL and working with relational databases (Postgres is a plus).
- Hands-on experience with Docker and deploying containerised services.
- Good understanding of how to build reliable data / compute pipelines in the cloud.
- Comfortable on Linux, with Git, and with general automation/scripting.
Nice to haves
- Experience with Kafka or similar event/streaming systems.
- Any background in trading systems, sports betting, or finance.
- Interest in sports, ideally golf, so the domain makes intuitive sense.
- Experience with Terraform / IaC, or setting up monitoring/alerting from scratch (CloudWatch, Prometheus/Grafana, Datadog, etc.).
If you don’t tick every box but you’re strong on AWS + Python + pipelines and like the sound of the space, it’s worth talking.
- Hybrid Dublin – mix of office and remote; we’re flexible on when and how you work as long as things run smoothly.
- Small team, no layers – you’ll work directly with the founder and the other devs, and see your work in production very quickly.
- Real impact – what you build directly affects live trading and how we operate as a business.
- Competitive salary + equity – we’ll discuss specifics based on experience.
- Plenty of growth opportunity as we scale the models, markets and team.
