Company Description
We provide flexible, collaborative, and cost-effective tech expertise and leadership to help you get your dream product live faster with less risk. Our services include CTO consulting, dedicated development teams, product as a service, monitoring and incident management, cloud server migration, and code audit. We lead developers, improve development processes, and deliver great products. Trusted for our CTO services, we help both tech startups and established businesses in the Nordics, Switzerland, and the US.
Role Description
A company enters its ramp-down phase, we must ensure a safe, controlled operation of all cloud and Kubernetes clusters for ~12 months.
Most of the engineering team will leave, so we need strong DevOps leadership, but in a maintenance-first mindset.
Mission
We are seeking a senior DevOps/Kubernetes engineer who excels in diagnosing infrastructure issues, ensuring uptime, and applying targeted improvements only when required.
What you will do
- Maintain and monitor the existing multi-cluster Kubernetes infrastructure
- React to production alerts and ensure quick recovery
- Apply patches or upgrades strictly when needed (security, critical fixes)
- Keep costs under control and help progressively simplify the infrastructure
- Ensure the platform remains stable as the team winds down
- Write minimal documentation to support transition
Why this mission makes sense
- Ideal for a seasoned DevOps freelancer who wants a stable, non-crazy 12-month mission
- No new projects, no heavy CI/CD redesign — strictly keep it running
- High autonomy, low politics
- Interesting technical environment with IoT, real-time data, and large-scale operations
Employment or contractor welcome.
Remote possible, after a Zurich based onsite handover of 2-3 months.
Remote Location: Germany, France, Austria (or EU).
