DevOps Engineer (with GCP)

We are looking for a DevOps Engineer to join our client's team. In this role, you will help design and implement rule-based transaction controls, prevent fraudulent activities, and support clients in safeguarding their accounts. You will also work with real-time, scalable cloud infrastructure to ensure secure and efficient processing of high-volume transactions.


This role is available only in Bucharest and involves an employment contract (CIM), with hybrid work model (3 days per week on-site).


Responsibilities:


  • Perform configuration management on non-production and production environments
  • Define Service Level Objectives (SLOs) and Service Level Indicators (SLIs).
  • Build, deploy activities on non-production and production environments
  • Support the Release Manager in preparing release notes, deployment instructions and run-books for production deployments
  • Can provide support for technical infrastructure components (middleware, databases, operating systems)
  • Contributes to problem and root cause analysis
  • Contributes to continuous improvement of build, deploy and release processes
  • Hands-on experience in implementing reliability and resilience patterns like auto
  • scaling, circuit breakers, bulk-heads, rate limiter, retry mechanisms, etc.
  • Monitoring quota limits and usage
  • Driving major incidents and performing blameless postmortem.
  • Setup and maintain secure and compliant infrastructure in the Cloud
  • Speed up software delivery in the Cloud and ease fulfilment of governance controls
  • CI/CD, central tooling integration (BLT, Veracode), SDLC integration, migrations
  • Creates knowledge base articles
  • Ensure infrastructure is built as Infrastructure-as-Code


Requirements:


  • + 5 years experience (2+ in GCP)
  • Expert knowledge and hands-on experience with applications hosted on cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform as well as with Docker / Kubernetes in combination with with Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), Terraform or similar technology.
  • Experience in resilient software development in JAVA and the usage of modern CI/CD pipelines e.g., Jenkins in conjunction with bitbucket, Github and Github Actions.
  • Strong experience in the setup of observability, monitoring and self-healing solutions for instance with New Relic, Splunk, Google Cloud Operations, Lightstep and Ansible.
  • Very good knowledge of security standards (e.g.: TLS, OAuth2, KMS, Vault, Admission Controllers, let's encrypt), microservice architectures and experience with API Management with Apigee or WSO
  • Proactive attitude and collaborative Team player mindset paired with self-confidence.
  • Not losing your coolness and keep your eye for details even in stressful situations where time matters.
  • Having a creative approach towards solving technical problems.
  • Excellent communication skills in English.
