Location: The main location for this role is Solna. There may be opportunities to work from other Saab sites as well, as long as you are comfortable making regular visits to Solna.

Your role
We are looking for a passionate and experienced Design System Designer to join a newly formed design team in Saab’s Product Tech organization. In this role, you will be instrumental in shaping and maintaining our design system, developing common patterns and UI components, and supporting teams across the organisation in adopting new systems and procedures. You will work closely with developers, product owners, and designers to understand the end users’ perspectives and ensure a consistent, high-quality design system that supports scalable and efficient user experiences across our digital products.

Your role
We are looking for a passionate and experienced Design System Designer to join a newly formed design team in Saab’s Product Tech organization. In this role, you will be instrumental in shaping and maintaining our design system, developing common patterns and UI components, and supporting teams across the organisation in adopting new systems and procedures. You will work closely with developers, product owners, and designers to understand the end users’ perspectives and ensure a consistent, high-quality design system that supports scalable and efficient user experiences across our digital products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define our design system and component library from initial conception through launch and ongoing iteration for improvement
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, end-users, and relevant roles to develop reusable UI components that prioritise clarity and maintain institutional or product identity through effective aesthetics
- Define and drive best practices, evaluating opportunities such as Figma MCP and design-to-code processes using generative AI.
- Enabling modularity from a UX perspective as part of our modular software architecture
- Provide guidance and support adoption across mission critical applications in various domains and platforms, ensuring universal design consistency, compliance, accessibility and usability

Required:
- Proven experience in designing design systems and component libraries.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating design system contributions and UI/UX design skills.
- High proficiency in Figma
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
- Ability to work across teams and influence design practices at scale.
- Ability to communicate fluently in both Swedish and English.
- Experience working in large-scale software organisations.
- Familiarity with front-end development and JavaScript libraries (e.g., React, Angular).
