Job Title: Software Engineer – 5

Location: Scarborough, ON (3–4 days onsite)

Duration: 5-Month Contract + Possibility of Extension

Typical Day in the Role

• Perform full-stack development (approximately 50% back-end / 50% front-end).
• Work hands-on with a modern tech stack:
• Front-end: React, JavaScript, Redux, HTML5, JSP
• Back-end: Java, J2EE, Node.js, Express.js
• Cloud Migration: Assist in migrating PCF Azure applications to Atlas GCP using Spring Boot.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Developers, Product Owners, and technical SMEs to interpret requirements and design technical solutions.
• Work closely with architecture groups to support design proposals, development, and application maintenance.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, proactively communicating risks and challenges.
• Rapidly onboard to new technologies, tools, and processes as part of an evolving development environment.

Must-Have Skills

1. 10+ years of relevant IT industry experience.
2. 5–7 years of hands-on Full Stack Development experience.
3. Strong experience with front-end technologies: React, Redux, JavaScript, HTML5, JSP.
4. 3–5 years of combined experience in back-end development using:

• Node.js, Express.js, Java, J2EE, Spring Boot
• Database technologies (SQL/NoSQL)

Nice-to-Have Skills

1. Prior banking experience.
2. Experience working within an Agile lab or Agile development environment.
3. Familiarity with JIRA and Confluence.
4. Exposure to Dynatrace monitoring.
5. Experience with cloud technologies such as GCP or Azure.
