Microsoft Email Orchestrator (MEO) is a mission-critical platform that powers billions of email transactions per month across Microsoft’s global ecosystem. It serves as the backbone for customer communications, transactional alerts, and service notifications across Azure, Microsoft 365, Commerce, and other enterprise services.
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Senior Software Engineer to lead technical efforts, drive architectural decisions, and mentor a high-performing team in building highly scalable and resilient cloud services.

Responsibilities
- Lead design and development of distributed systems that orchestrate email delivery, diagnostics, and self-healing capabilities across Microsoft services.
- Own service quality end to end—from design reviews and threat modeling to testing, telemetry/observability, incident response, and continuous improvement.
- Contribute to engineering excellence: maintain high code standards, improve build/deploy pipelines, automate quality gates, and champion security & privacy by design.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and lead engineers to align designs, dependencies, and data contracts.
- Actively participate in design reviews, code reviews, and service health reviews ensuring adoption of engineering processes & standards.
- Integrate AI-assisted development tools to improve engineering productivity and code quality.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field or equivalent practical experience.
- 4+ years of professional experience in designing, developing, and operating mission-critical cloud services at scale.
- Proficiency in object-oriented programming (C#, Java, or similar) and distributed systems fundamentals.
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills in high scale environments.
- Experience with RESTful APIs, data modeling, and cloud services (Azure, AWS, or equivalent).
- Demonstrated ability to ship high quality, well tested code and to operate services in production.
- Demonstrated experience leveraging AI tools and technologies to enhance engineering effectiveness, coupled with a strong curiosity and commitment to continuous learning in the field of Artificial Intelligence.
