The Trading Product team is responsible the development and management of trading products and platforms. The team collaborates closely with the rest of the Technology team as well as the Marketing, Product & CX team to enhance trading capabilities to deliver a competitive edge.

What Will You Be Doing

This role is based in Sydney or Perth and will have accountability for:

  • Define and execute the product roadmap for the trading platform and tools.
  • Identify opportunities for innovation and improvements in trading functionality, automation, and user experience.
  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders to translate ideas and requirements into appropriate solution designs.
  • Lead the development of new trading products, features, and enhancements in collaboration with business and technical teams.
  • Work closely with software delivery teams to ensure the backlog is prioritized correctly to optimally meet business needs.
  • Work closely with Technical Business Analysts and business SMEs to contextualize and decompose business requirements.
  • Facilitate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) by working closely with stakeholders, Technical Business Analysts, and testers.
  • Lead incident management efforts to quickly resolve any issues affecting trading operations or product performance.
  • Manage relationships with trading solution-specific partners and vendors to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance of third-party tools and services.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of product features, trading processes, and support procedures.
  • Ensure all trading activities and product developments adhere to regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Build and lead a team responsible for supporting the trading desk and assisting in product management deliverables.
  • Drive technical integration and optimization of IRESS trading platforms (IOS+, OMS), ensuring robust connectivity, API utilization, and configuration for enhanced performance.
  • Collaborate with technology teams to troubleshoot and resolve IRESS-related issues, including data feeds, FIX connectivity, and system upgrades.
  • Lead complex projects such as back-office migrations involving IRESS systems and ensure successful delivery of initiatives like Third Party Clearing.

To Succeed In This Role, You Will Bring

  • 5+ years of experience in trading technology within the Financial Services - Stockbroking industry.
  • Strong understanding of trading products and financial markets.
  • The ability to create and maintain excellent stakeholder relationships, with the skills to converse with both the business and technology team members at all levels of the organisation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated experience using trading platforms.
  • Hands-on experience with IRESS systems (IOS+, OMS), including configuration, integration, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with FIX protocol and connectivity for trading systems.
  • Experience with alternate trading systems and smart order routers.
  • Deep understanding of Australian trading environment, including:

> Order vs Trade concepts.

> Different exchanges and their roles in the market.

> Regulatory requirements.

> Institutional and retail order flows.

  • Proven experience delivering back-office migrations with IRESS.
  • Large-scale trading experience across multiple asset classes.
  • Self-sufficient and capable of driving technical solutions independently.
  • A deep understanding of Agile and Scrum-based delivery.
  • The ability to work with a cross-functional team both as a leader and as a member of the team in order to deliver on a common goal.
