Freelance Mobile Security / Forensic Engineer
Location: Brussels (onsite)
Duration: Long-term freelance
Nationality: EU required
We are seeking an experienced Mobile Security & Forensics Engineer for a freelance onsite mission in Brussels. You will play a key role in developing and enhancing diagnostic frameworks, supporting incident response activities, and leading mobile security analysis across a large-scale institutional environment.
Responsibilities
- Define business and technical requirements for mobile security initiatives
- Design architecture for large-scale mobile diagnostic data collection & processing
- Create and enhance analysis workflows for mobile forensic data
- Perform sysdiagnose analysis focused on iOS devices
- Conduct advanced malware, intrusion, and reverse-engineering investigations
- Develop tooling in Swift and Python to support diagnostics & analysis
- Contribute to threat-intelligence and detection-rule repositories
- Support knowledge-sharing, workshops, and awareness training
- Build and maintain open-source components and documentation
Required Expertise
- Strong background in mobile forensics & iOS sysdiagnose analysis
- High proficiency in Swift & Python scripting / engineering
- Experience with incident response & threat detection operations
- Familiarity with Splunk, MISP, and threat-intel data processing
- Strong knowledge of Linux OS internals & system behavior
- Experience with digital forensics, intrusion analysis, and malware behavior
- Relevant security certifications are an asset (GCFA, GCFE, GCIA, GREM, GNFA, etc.)
- Excellent command of English
