Network Engineer (CCNP Level) – Contract

Location: Limerick (Onsite, 5 days per week)

Overview

We are looking for a highly skilled Network Engineer with CCNP-level proficiency to join our team on a daily-rate contract in Limerick. This onsite role involves working closely with the internal IT team to enhance, maintain, and secure the enterprise network. The position focuses on Cisco routing and switching, wireless technologies, SD-WAN, and Palo Alto firewalls, alongside regular patching, upgrades, and infrastructure optimisation.

Primary Responsibilities

• Architect, deploy, and troubleshoot Cisco networking solutions, including routing, switching, wireless, and SD-WAN environments.
• Administer and fine-tune Palo Alto firewalls, ensuring effective security configurations and policy management.
• Carry out firmware updates, OS patching, and ongoing maintenance across network and security platforms.
• Monitor network health, diagnose issues, and support incident response activities.
• Work collaboratively with teams across the business to support and deliver key infrastructure projects.
• Uphold network security standards and ensure adherence to compliance requirements.
• Maintain accurate documentation and provide technical guidance where required.

Skills

• Demonstrated CCNP-level expertise across Cisco networking technologies (Routing, Switching, Wireless, SD-WAN).
• Hands-on experience managing, configuring, and troubleshooting Palo Alto firewalls.
• Proven ability to perform patching and firmware upgrades across enterprise network environments.
• Strong grasp of network security fundamentals and best practices.
• Background working in large-scale or complex networking environments, with strong troubleshooting capability.
• Availability to work fully onsite in Limerick, Monday to Friday.

Preferred Skills

• Exposure to Cisco ISE, DNA Center, or Meraki solutions.
• Understanding of cloud networking within AWS or Azure.
• Scripting or network automation experience (Python, Ansible).
