Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience with software development in Java programming language, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree in an industry setting.
  • 2 years of experience with Android application development.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 2 years of experience with Android Libraries.
  • 2 years of experience with software development in Kotlin programming language.
  • 2 years of experience with performance, large-scale systems data analysis, visualization tools, or debugging.

In this role, you will be a part of the System UI engineering team, helping to build the face of the Android Operating System. You will refine the performance and overall user experience of the key interactions, billions of users live with it every day. You will work with other teams in Android Platform to build a high-quality, premium Android user experience.Android is Google’s mobile operating system powering more than 3 billion devices worldwide. Responsibilities

  • Design and implement features to improve the overall performance of public Android releases. Investigate and fix critical performance issues.
  • Design and implement the guidelines and best practices for other developers to avoid performance bugs.
  • Work with the engineers in the team to identify the new opportunities to build a highly premium Android experience.
  • Collaborate with other teams to build and improve the tools and frameworks to track, investigate and fix performance issues.
  • Comply with all company health and safety policies, procedures, and legal requirements.
