Our Engineering Research and Development department (ER&D) is a fast-growing function within Tata Technologies Limited that is assembled to work on exciting projects globally for multiple customers. It comprises highly specialized engineers across Automotive, Aerospace and Industrial Heavy Machinery.

Our Engineering Research and Development department (ER&D) is a fast-growing function within Tata Technologies Limited that is assembled to work on exciting projects globally for multiple customers. It comprises highly specialized engineers across Automotive, Aerospace and Industrial Heavy Machinery.

Working on the integration of electronic and electrical systems for multiple products provides the opportunity to work with multiple disciplines within the organisation. Our integrated machine systems control all aspects of construction machine operation (engine, transmission, hydraulic systems), provide the human-machine interface (operator controls and information displays), and constantly monitor and communicate position, operation, diagnostic and prognostic information to enable machine automation, improved productivity and enhanced serviceability.

Dimension of function:

We create tomorrow’s solutions for active safety and self-driving vehicles. In our ADAS department we develop the complete sensor and software platform that enables the deployment of functionalities such as Collision Avoidance, Automatic Parking and Autonomous Driving.

Our team has an ambitious roadmap to develop the new platform for Driver Monitoring Systems (DMS) to detect driver distraction and drowsiness facilitating e.g. driver alert warnings.

We are now looking for a Software Engineer to join our team and be part of our journey towards developing the new platform for future vehicle models.

Area of Responsibility:

System requirement engineering, from architectural design to implementation phase, to design, defining and developing our automotive camera-based vision systems for which you will have close interaction with stakeholders both internally and externally.

System design of our automotive camera-based vision systems in terms of sensor performance, base technology concepts, communication interfaces, diagnostics, logging and data collection

Contributing to technical design reviews, providing technical input and giving recommendations

Developing system verification plan and establish verification infrastructure

Attributes:

• M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering mechatronics, software engineering, or similar
• Extensive system and software development experience within the automotive field
• Experienced in sensor development, system safety and cyber security
• Experienced in collaborating in an international environment with multiple stakeholders
• Experience of VPDS, KDP, CarWeaver, TeamCenter is meritorious
• Excellent English skills, both verbally and written
• Driver’s license (B)

You will need to be a technically minded team player with excellent collaboration skills as you need to manage a broad network and multiple topics. You must have a strong analytical capability with a positive and problem-solving mindset to find innovative solutions. You will also need to be structured in your work with high focus on quality.

As you will be working in an international environment, we require a skilled communicator with excellent English skills both verbally and in writing.
