Role
- Build and scale a high-performing engineering team: hire great people, retain them, and develop junior engineers into seniors.
- Drive delivery across multiple product areas, ensuring fast, high-quality features for financial professionals and enterprise partners.
- Set pragmatic engineering processes for planning, code quality, reviews, reliability, and on-call, balancing speed with structure as the company grows.
- Partner with the founders on technical strategy, shaping architecture, scaling plans, reliability expectations, and long-term platform direction.
- Stay hands-on where needed - contributing to architecture, unblocking engineers, and reviewing complex PRs.
- Foster a healthy engineering culture built on transparency, constructive challenge, strong communication, documentation, and a bias for action.
Requirements
- 10+ years of engineering leadership experience, ideally in a fast-growing startup the have grown from Series A > B
- Strong technical foundation, with hands-on engineering experience.
- Proven ability to deliver outcomes amid uncertainty, exercising sound, structured judgment in fast-moving startup environments.
- Excellent communication skills - able to clearly articulate the “why” behind priorities and keep the team aligned with company goals.
- Comfortable making architectural and tradeoff decisions across performance, reliability, cost, and speed
- Energized by both coding and leading, moving fluidly between technical work and team leadership
- Motivated to help build an engineering culture that will stand the test of time
