Aspirante is working with a Queensland government department to assist in their search for an experienced Full Stack Developer to support and enhance a suite of enterprise applications. This role is ideal for someone who can confidently own an existing codebase, deliver new features, and ensure high-quality technical outcomes across both front-end and back-end components.
You’ll work closely with technical leads and architects to design, build, and improve modern web applications used across a large organisation. You’ll also contribute to solution design, testing, performance optimisation, documentation, and knowledge transfer.
- 12 month contract with likely extension
- Paying up to $1000 per day
- 50/50 Hybrid in Brisbane CBD

You’ll work closely with technical leads and architects to design, build, and improve modern web applications used across a large organisation. You’ll also contribute to solution design, testing, performance optimisation, documentation, and knowledge transfer.

Key Responsibilities
- Own and enhance the existing full stack codebase with new feature development.
- Maintain and evolve a React/TypeScript front end, including advanced forms, data tables, and admin workflows.
- Contribute to backend development using Python, including API logic, data processing, and integration tasks.
- Integrate and optimise AWS Amplify DataStore, GraphQL APIs, and DynamoDB.
- Implement robust validation, error handling, logging, and user feedback mechanisms across the stack.
- Ensure code quality through reviews, maintainability practices, and thorough documentation.
- Collaborate with technical specialists to analyse, design, and assess solution approaches.
- Undertake analysis, design, development, unit testing, performance testing, and issue resolution.
- Manage risks, priorities, and deadlines to ensure smooth delivery.
- Produce clear documentation aligned to organisational standards.
- Provide technical knowledge transfer to internal staff.
- Work independently with minimal guidance and contribute to continuous improvement.
- Strong React (with Hooks) and TypeScript experience building complex SPAs.
- Solid backend development experience in Python.
- Strong ability to design, consume, and debug REST and GraphQL APIs.
- Experience with modern CSS frameworks or component libraries (Tailwind, shadcn/ui, etc.).
- Proficiency with Git and collaborative version control workflows.
- Strong debugging skills across both UI and backend components.
- AWS Amplify (DataStore, GraphQL, Auth).
- DynamoDB NoSQL schema design, indexing, query optimisation.
- AWS services such as Lambda, S3, CloudWatch, API Gateway.
- Testing frameworks (unit, integration, E2E) for both React and Python.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Amplify Console, GitHub Actions, etc.).
- UX/UI capability and accessibility awareness.
