About The Role

As the Cyber Security Team Lead, you will lead and manage the Cyber Security team, providing expert technical guidance and mentoring to ensure organisational goals are met. You will oversee the development, implementation, and optimisation of security controls, frameworks, and policies, ensuring compliance with standards such as ISO 27001, Essential 8, and IS18:2022.

Your role will involve proactively monitoring, detecting, and responding to cyber threats, incidents, and vulnerabilities while collaborating with internal teams and external partners to enhance Legal Aid Queensland's cyber security posture.

Additionally, you will provide strategic advice to senior management on cyber and information security risks, maturity, and future requirements, as well as manage and deliver key cyber security projects aligned with organisational objectives.

About You

We're seeking a passionate leader with:

  • Proven experience in developing, implementing, and managing cyber security operations in complex ICT environments.
  • Strong knowledge of cyber security principles, threat intelligence, and governance practices.
  • Exceptional communication skills to translate complex technical concepts for diverse audiences.
  • A growth mindset and the ability to inspire confidence in challenging environments.
  • Industry certifications such as Security+, CISSP, or CISM (highly regarded).
