Role Overview

We are seeking a Freelance Electrical Project Manager to lead and deliver the commissioning phase of a major infrastructure project in Belgium. The role focuses on ensuring all electrical systems are tested, validated, and handed over safely, on time, and in compliance with European standards.

🛠 Responsibilities

• Develop and implement commissioning plans, schedules, and procedures.
• Supervise energization, testing, and validation of electrical systems.
• Ensure smooth transition from construction to operational readiness.

Project Scope in Belgium The role will be focused on the commissioning of a new pharmaceutical manufacturing facility in Antwerp, a site designed to meet strict GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) standards. Key systems include:

UPS systems and battery storage supporting cleanroom operations.

Standby generators and automatic transfer switches for uninterrupted production.

Fire detection, emergency lighting, and life safety circuits across laboratory and production areas.

Electrical interfaces for HVAC systems ensuring controlled temperature and humidity in cleanrooms.

Integration of monitoring and control systems with the site’s Building Management System (BMS).

Quality & Compliance

Verify installations against design specifications and EU electrical codes.

Ensure safety protocols during live testing and energization.

Produce commissioning reports, test certificates, and handover documentation.

Stakeholder Management

Act as the key point of contact between contractors, engineers, and the client.

Provide regular progress updates and resolve technical issues.

Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to meet project deadlines.

Requirements

• Proven experience managing electrical commissioning projects.
• Strong technical knowledge of UPS, generator integration, and building services.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
• Familiarity with IEC and Belgian electrical standards.
• Ability to work independently in a freelance capacity.
• Fluency in English; Dutch or French is an advantage.
