Reporting to our Cellular Fermentation R&D manager you will be responsible for a project focused on evaluating analytical software for GC-MS data. The goal is to test multiple tools, assess their accuracy and automation potential, and integrate them into an existing analysis pipeline. You’ll work with real-world data from chocolate aroma analysis—a unique opportunity to combine data science with food science.
What you will do :
- Test and compare analytical tools for GC-MS data processing.
- Evaluate accuracy, robustness, and automation capabilities.
- Integrate selected tools into an existing analysis pipeline.
- Work with large datasets and develop efficient workflows.
- Bachelor’s degree in statistics, math, computer science, information technology, chemical sciences or engineering
- Strong background in statistics and data science.
- Proficiency in R, Python, or similar programming languages.
- Proficiency in English (written and spoken).
- Experience in developing analysis pipelines and handling large datasets.
- Plus, but not mandatory: familiarity with GC-MS data formats and processing; Interest in food science and sensory analysis; basic understanding of analytical chemistry and food aroma concepts.
- No prior lab experience required.
- Period of the internship : 4 to 6 months
- Location of the internship: Groot-Bijgaarden, Belgium
