JOB DESCRIPTION
As an IT Procurement Intern, you will assist the IT procurement team in sourcing, purchasing, and managing IT hardware, software, and services. You will work closely with internal stakeholders, vendors, and suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement of IT resources. This role will provide you with valuable exposure to procurement best practices, contract management, and IT asset lifecycle management.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the procurement of IT hardware, software, and services, including researching vendors, obtaining quotes, and preparing purchase orders.
- Support the IT procurement team in managing vendor relationships, including communication, contract negotiations, and performance evaluations.
- Maintain accurate records of procurement activities, including purchase orders, invoices, and contracts.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their IT needs and provide procurement support.
- Assist in the management of IT assets, including tracking inventory, monitoring warranties, and coordinating repairs or replacements.
- Help ensure compliance with company policies, procurement guidelines, and legal requirements.
- Participate in the evaluation of new IT products and services, including conducting market research and analyzing vendor proposals.
- Support the IT procurement team in identifying cost-saving opportunities and optimizing procurement processes.
- Assist with the preparation of reports and presentations related to procurement activities and vendor performance.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the IT procurement team.
- Currently pursuing a degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Strong interest in procurement, vendor management, and IT asset management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal teams and external vendors.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Basic understanding of IT hardware, software, and services is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Previous experience or coursework in procurement, supply chain management, or IT.
- Familiarity with procurement software or tools (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Coupa).
- Knowledge of IT asset management practices and tools.
- Hands-on experience in IT procurement and vendor management.
- Exposure to a wide range of IT products and services.
- Mentorship and guidance from experienced procurement professionals.
