Technical Product Manager – Value Based Contracting

Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine is thrilled to open the position of Technical Product Manager (TPM), responsible for the development and management of the Value Based Contracting product within the EMEA Region. This strategic role is pivotal in redefining how sophisticated contracting agreements, rebates, and payments based on outcomes are handled across the organization. As part of the Market Access Product Group, you will lead all aspects of the SmartContracting solution, ensuring seamless integration with SAP's Galaxy platform and iTender for tender management. This role offers a unique opportunity to influence innovative contracting models that drive value-based healthcare.
Key Responsibilities
- Define the product vision, strategy, objectives, and key results for the Value Based Contracting product, aligning with regional HEMAR and business demands.
- Establish and maintain the technology roadmap to enable efficient, scalable contracting processes that align to regulatory standards.
- Lead solution design and architecture for the SmartContracting platform, including integrations with SAP and iTender.
- Drive solutioning and decision-making around build vs. buy options, technical standards, and solution options.
- Partner with regional interested parties including legal, compliance, and finance teams to gather requirements and translate them into product features.
- Manage the product backlog and release plan, collaborating with engineering teams to ensure timely delivery.
- Coordinate with vendors and internal teams to ensure seamless integration, deployment, and ongoing platform support.
- Coordinate platform lifecycle management, including testing, validation, compliance, and change control processes.
- Monitor platform performance and user feedback to identify continuous improvement opportunities.
- Ensure risk management, security, and regulatory compliance are embedded in product development and operation.
- Coach and support Product Owners and regional teams on product management standards and agile methodologies.
- Facilitate cross-team communication and collaboration to ensure alignment on dependencies and enablers.
- Shown experience in product management within regulated environments such as healthcare, pharmaceuticals, or life sciences.
- Deep understanding of outcome-based contracting, rebates, and complex payment models.
- Strong technical competence with experience in enterprise platform architecture, integrations, and solutioning.
- Familiarity with SAP Galaxy, iTender, or similar systems.
- Excellent partner management, leadership, and communication skills.
- Experience working in a regional, multicultural environment with a strategic and collaborative attitude.
- Knowledge of agile delivery methodologies and product lifecycle management.
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology, or equivalent.
- Demonstrated ability during 6 years in IT program management or related fields.
- Experience in Pharma Commercial, Market Access, Contracting, or digital health solutions is preferred.
- Demonstrated success in managing complex platforms and cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency with Agile frameworks (e.g., SAFe, Kanban, SCRUM) and tools (e.g., Jira, Rally, MS Project).
- Ability to operate independently, influence across organizational boundaries, and prioritise.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills, with experience engaging senior leadership.
- Capable of working collaboratively in virtual, global teams and managing ambiguity.
