About this opportunity:
The Radio Technical Support Engineer is responsible for delivering expert technical assistance and guidance to customers using our products. This role involves providing pre-sales technical support, ensuring seamless product integration within customer networks, and delivering timely troubleshooting and issue resolution throughout the product lifecycle. This position also serves as a vital link between customers and the product development team, contributing field insights to enhance product performance, reliability, and customer satisfaction.
We are part of the Customer Experience organization within Ericsson Radio and Transport Engineering. We are seeking individuals in the early stages of their careers who are passionate about electronics and interested in providing technical support and resolving customer issues.
What you will do:
- Professionally engage with customers to understand their technical issues and communicate technical concepts in a clear understandable manner.
- Investigation and analysis of customer issues according to established processes, engage design teams to ensure effective resolution when necessary.
- Perform E2E fault reproduction during the troubleshooting in Ericsson environment (CX or design labs).
- Leverage network data analytics team to understand N/W impact and background by translating the technical requirements to Network data analytics team and analyzing the results.
- Support 24/7 emergencies, FTS (follow the sun) and on call duties.
- Technical support and guidance to development projects during the product introduction activities (FFI) and focused development phase/Market introduction setup.
- Collaboration with design teams during the initial stages of product development to offer insights based on product behavior and usage in the field.
- Identify opportunities for improvement and innovation in products, processes, and production. Provide innovative ideas to solve technical problems and create customer value.
- Share and reuse knowledge in daily work, take part in communities of practice and engage in networking.
- Master’s degree in a relevant field (Electronics Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Communication Systems or similar).
- 0-2 years of working experience.
- Introductory understanding of 3GPP radio layers (PHY/MAC/RLC/RRC) and how they interact in LTE/5G networks.
- Basic understanding of RF concepts such as modulation, propagation, antennas, and introductory knowledge of LTE/5G standards.
- Foundational knowledge of analog and digital electronics with some hands-on experience using basic lab instruments such as oscilloscopes and spectrum analyzers.
- Basic awareness of RF front-end components and radio signal flow, with the ability to perform simple RF measurements and assist in hardware troubleshooting under guidance.
- Plans tasks effectively and manages time and resources to meet deadlines.
- Adjusts quickly to new situations and stays positive when things are unclear.
- Works carefully and reliably to deliver quality results that meet customer needs.
- Cooperates well with teammates and communicates openly and respectfully.
- Builds good relationships and interacts confidently with people at all levels.
- Contributes fresh ideas and helps find practical solutions to problems.
