Job Description
The role involves taking end-to-end ownership of building, optimizing, and supporting both existing and new data products aligned with the target vision. It requires championing DevOps principles by managing CI/CD pipelines, Terraform, and GCP cloud infrastructure. A key responsibility is ensuring that data products operate as independent deployable units while meeting standards for security, scalability, observability, and performance. The role also includes close collaboration with the Product Owner and other stakeholders to shape the vision for current products and identify new opportunities based on customer needs. You will work with various product teams within and outside the domain on data mesh–related topics, continuously evaluate and improve systems, reduce technical debt, and stay current with the latest developments in data, analytics, and cloud technologies.
Qualifications
Core Technical Skills
- Google Cloud Platform (GCP) – especially Dataflow and BigQuery
- DBT (Data Build Tool)
- CI/CD pipelines and Terraform
- Cloud infrastructure management (GCP)
- Programming languages: Python, Java, or Scala
- SQL or similar query languages
- Data formats: Avro, Parquet
- Data modeling techniques (and understanding trade-offs)
- NoSQL and RDBMS knowledge
- Data visualization tools
- DevOps mindset and principles
- Building deployable, independent data products
- Ensuring security, scalability, observability, and performance
- Working within a data mesh architecture
- Technical debt reduction & continuous improvement
Start date: ASAP
