Frontend React Developer – Sports betting Hedge Fund – London
Hybrid 2 days in the office and 3 days from home

Frontend Developer is required for a leading provider of sports betting brokerage software worldwide based in London. The successful Frontend Developer will be to joining a small, tight-knit team, working closely with the quantitative researchers and alongside other extremely talented and driven engineers to build and support systematic trading models. You will be building, optimising and maintaining high-performance UIs using React + TypeScript. You will be working with real-time sports data feeds (WebSockets, streaming APIs, state synchronization) and building frontend systems that can smoothly handle large datasets, heavy rendering, and rapid updates.
Essential Skills
- 3+ years experience with React and TypeScript
- Solid understanding of performance optimization (memoization, virtualization, rendering strategies)
- Experience handling real-time or high-frequency data
- Ability to build UIs that process large and complex datasets efficiently
- Familiarity with Next.js (SSR, SSG, routing, data fetching)
- Ability to produce UI mockups/wireframes for new features
- Awareness of SEO fundamentals (metadata, structured data, SSR best practices)
- Strong understanding of responsive design, web fundamentals, and browser behavior
- Experience with Git and modern development workflows
Nice to Have
- Experience in the sports betting, sports analytics, or high-load data industries
- Knowledge of real-time state libraries (Zustand, Redux Toolkit, Jotai, Recoil, etc.)
- Familiarity with performance profiling tools, Lighthouse, React DevTools profiler
- Experience with component libraries or building design systems
- Understanding of WebSockets, event streams, caching strategies
- Previous work with CI/CD pipelines or container-based workflows
- Interest in UX, animations, or micro-interactions
- Knowledge of testing (Jest, Vitest, RTL)
