About The Role
- We are seeking a Junior DevOps Engineer (Night Shift) to join UniUni’s growing team. This role will support and maintain production systems overnight (10:00 PM – 6:00 AM PST, with possible adjustments based on business needs). The ideal candidate holds a degree in Computer Science or a related field, has strong knowledge of AWS and Linux, and is eager to grow their skills in cloud and DevOps. Experience with Terraform, Packer, Ansible, Python, or Golang is a strong asset.
- Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot production systems and services during night hours.
- Assist in deploying, configuring, and managing AWS infrastructure.
- Perform Linux system administration tasks and ensure server health and availability.
- Support CI/CD pipelines and operational workflows.
- Collaborate with the daytime DevOps team by documenting incidents and providing detailed handover notes.
- For complex system issues, after making an initial assessment of the problem nature, promptly coordinate and assemble the relevant teams to jointly implement emergency mitigation actions and conduct root cause investigations of incidents.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Solid understanding of AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, etc.).
- Proficiency in Linux system administration.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work independently during night shifts.
- Good communication and documentation skills.
- Familiarity with Terraform, Packer, Ansible.
- Programming or scripting experience with Python and/or Golang.
- Experience with monitoring and alerting systems (e.g., CloudWatch, Prometheus).
