Sr Software Engineer

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer (Backend Focus) to join one of our clients' team, responsible for building and scaling high-load backend systems that process billions of transactions per day.

This is a direct-hire role within a global engineering organization of 900+ people, collaborating with teams in the US, Israel, and the UK. You will work on end-to-end development, modern architectures, continuous deployments, and real large-scale performance challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop backend services, modules, and products for large-scale environments.
  • Build systems capable of serving billions of daily transactions with a strong focus on performance, resiliency, and scalability.
  • Participate in architectural design and propose structural improvements.
  • Deploy code to production continuously, ensuring observability and stability.
  • Lead end-to-end initiatives (design, development, testing, deployment, monitoring).
  • Collaborate with Product to define and deliver new features.
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance across R&D teams.
  • Contribute to development standards, best practices, and cross-team collaboration globally

Requirements

Education & Language

  • Advanced student or graduate of Computer Science, Software Engineering, or similar (mandatory).
  • Advanced English — able to communicate fluently with global teams (mandatory).

Technical Experience

  • 5+ years of backend experience in dynamic, high-complexity environments.
  • Strong hands-on experience with microservices, REST APIs, cloud, and distributed architecture.
  • Proven experience working on SaaS products or large-scale systems.
  • Experience with Linux in production environments.
  • Solid background in performance optimization, debugging, and high-scale databases.
  • Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and modern development workflows.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead technical initiatives and mentor other engineers.

Programming Languages (one Or More Required)

  • Java, Scala, Python, PHP, or JavaScript (Angular, React, Node.js).

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or container orchestration.
  • Experience with React, Typescript, or modern frontend.
  • Open-source contributions.

Tech Stack

  • Backend: Java + Spring, Python, Scala + Play, Kotlin, Kafka
  • Frontend: React, Typescript
  • Infrastructure: Kubernetes, Docker, Snowflake
  • Methodology: CI/CD, modern dev workflows, global team collaboration
