We have recently pitched to VCs, are gaining strong early traction and we are now expanding our founding engineering team.

Role Description

We’re looking for a Founding Frontend Engineer (Next.js) who will own the user experience, interface, performance and SEO across the Shadow Phantom platform.

This is a zero-to-one role where you will:

• Design and ship core product experiences using Next.js, React and TypeScript
• Elevate the UX and UI of our dashboards, detail panels and the Security Graph
• Build and maintain the frontend API layer that communicates with our Go backend (REST/WebSockets)
• Implement SEO best practices to grow our organic visibility (sitemaps, open graph, structured data, meta tags)
• Optimize the performance and usability of our Security Graph (animations, interactions, load time)
• Contribute to product shaping from early concepts to polished production features
• Work closely with backend, design and AI engineering to bring the product to life
• Architect reusable components, shared layouts and our long-term design system

What you will work with

We already have a fully functional Next.js MVP including:

• A multi-module dashboard
• Cloud exposure pages
• A sophisticated Security Graph (React Flow + D3-style interactions)
• Incident and remediation workflows
• Internationalisation, SEO, structured data and security headers

Your mission is to take this to an enterprise-grade experience, not maintain legacy code.

You will:

• Redesign key screens for clarity and performance
• Improve responsiveness, accessibility and Core Web Vitals
• Polish animations, micro-interactions and graph UX
• Refactor components into a scalable architecture for 20+ use cases
• Implement more efficient data-fetching patterns (SSR, ISR, streaming routes)
• Build modern API clients for reliable backend communication
• Own all SEO, metadata, JSON-LD and indexing improvements
• Level up our entire UI to compete with the best (e.g. Wiz, Snyk, Datadog, Prisma Cloud, CrowdStrike) and push beyond them in clarity and user experience

Qualifications

• Strong experience with Next.js (App Router, SSR/SSG, routing, data fetching)
• Skilled in React + TypeScript
• Proven ability to build modern, clean, responsive UI
• Experience with Tailwind CSS or another utility-first framework
• Understanding of web performance, Lighthouse, Core Web Vitals
• Experience working with API integrations (REST/WebSockets, tokens, auth flows)
• Strong UX intuition and attention to detail
• Comfort working in early-stage environments
• Clear communication and a collaborative mindset

Nice to have

• Experience with React Flow, D3, Visx or other graph/visualization libraries
• Background in cybersecurity, DevSecOps or cloud security
• Experience with Figma and design systems
• SEO expertise in modern frameworks (Open Graph, JSON-LD, sitemaps)
• Familiarity with accessibility (a11y) and internationalization (i18n)
