You will work closely with our Senior Product Manager and highly skilled backend engineers, helping turn ideas and requirements into well-defined, actionable tasks. Because this role supports backend development, a certain level of technical knowledge is required (or will be a significant advantage) — understanding APIs, system integrations, databases or backend workflows.
This is a unique opportunity to shape the foundation of our technology, support cross-team needs, and grow into a more senior product role over time. Our platform powers a set of products in the telecoms industry, processing millions of transactions daily. We’re scaling our core systems to support the next phase of growth.
🔧 What You’ll Be Doing
- Support product and development teams in driving roadmap execution for Onoff server teams.
- Translate business and technical needs into clear user stories and tasks.
- Manage and refine the product backlog, ensuring requirements are ready for sprint planning.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across multiple teams to gather, validate and prioritise requirements.
- Track and communicate progress, risks and dependencies effectively.
- Ensure increased engineering capacity is fully leveraged through clear task definition and planning.
- Proactively identify opportunities to improve processes, alignment, and delivery efficiency.
- Experience in product ownership, business or system analysis (backend/infrastructure experience is a strong plus).
- Ability to write clear requirements, user stories and acceptance criteria for technical teams.
- Comfortability reading API documentation, understanding request/response flows, and ideally being able to collaborate with engineers on system design trade-offs.
- Familiarity with UML or process flow diagrams and ability to understand system behaviour.
- Strong organisational and communication skills; ability to coordinate across multiple stakeholders.
- Collaboration, eagerness to learn, proactiveness and comfortability in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic SQL for simple data queries.
- Experience with Jira, Confluence or similar backlog management tools.
- Familiarity with Agile (Scrum or Kanban).
- Experience with telecom, SaaS, or backend-heavy products.
- Work on mission-critical backend systems that power all Onoff products.
